Red Star Press Officially Launches Today!

We're pleased to announce that Red Star Press is officially open to the public. Thanks very much to everyone who participated in our Beta and VIP preview events. We got some great feedback and tweaked the site here and there.

To commemorate this occasion, we're going to release some new artwork by existing and new Chinese urban artists over the next few days. Here's a preview of an upcoming limited edition print by Red Star Artist Zhang Qitian...
Details to follow, but like the Ha Shiyou and Soos Charity prints, each print will be hand finished, signed and numbered by the artist. Please check back regularly on our site Red Star Press to see more upcoming artwork.

Also, thanks to the following blogs who covered our launch:

Chinese Earthquake Charity Event (July 2008)

Red Star Press is proud to sponsor a charity event to support the recovery efforts to assist earthquake victims in southwest China. Simply make a purchase on Red Star Press in the month of July, and a percentage of all sales will be donated to Mercy Corps. We are also releasing a number of artworks where 100% of all proceeds will be donated to Mercy Corps. Here's a sneak peak of a hand finished limited edition print by Beijing Street Artist Soos...

Here is what Mercy Corps will do with your donations...

"
In the aftermath of a powerful earthquake in central China that has killed at least 69,000 people and left as many as five million homeless, Mercy Corps is responding to survivors' needs alongside its local partners. We have helped procure critical supplies such as food, water, clothing and shelter supplies and delivered them to affected families. We are also launching an initiative to help children and youth recover from their trauma through mentoring, sports and other activities."

Check back to see a real-time update on the donation amount.
